My mother-in-law doesn't think much of Stalin.
Stalin passed down a decree that said any time a land owner died, the property would be automatically inhereted by the state.
But he wasn't a patient man and did not want to wait, so he sent his squads out to kill the farm owners.
My mother-in-law's family owned a farm and they ran from the squads with what they could carry. For months they ran until they made it to China, where my mother-in-law was born.
Stalin took everything they had except their lives, and that was not from a lack of trying.
BUT THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE.
