My wife and I are friends with some people who handle Target's advertising. They have been in charge of commercial shoots with Garth. They say that he is the most genuinely friendly, down to earth and understanding person.
There was one shoot that went hours beyond schedule, deep into a rainy night. It was the worst of all worlds. He had to stand in the rain while technicians worked to fix something that wasn't his fault. As things kept going wrong and the night kept getting later, he stood there getting colder by the minute the producers were worried he'd have a meltdown, or at least take time to get warm and dry out a little. He couldn't have been more gracious. He said that he knew that if he didn't stand in his spot where they needed him, the shoot couldn't progress and none of the hundred or so people working there could go home. So he wasn't going to take a break and delay everyone. There were a lot of grateful people that night.
