I would never consider buying a car unless 1) I could check it out personally
2) I could get a PPI done by an independent shop 3) Check all receipts for work done.

You are better off waiting until you get some vacation time or time off to check it out personally. Private sellers are more willing to provide service info. Be patient. Get things going your way!
