Yup, it's pretty bad in Beijing too. As long as you keep a woman on your arm, preferably a local, you'll be immune from the scammers.... assuming the local on your arm isn't one, herself. I haven't been to Shanghai except with Mrs. Lee at my side. Being all alone in Beijing once or twice, I was really a magnet for the hookers and scammers.
