I travel N.Y to N.C. often but in other cars than my 79SC. Always full auto club services and cell phone of course, gps is so handy for gas stations and food. No radar in Virginia they are illegal and speeding with northern plates can be trouble.
Fuses
Alternator Belt
Flashlight
Tool kit as supplied
Pelican bookmarked as where ever you are some help/advice is available
I have ready for my SC so I can now make a few long distance trips in addition to the above mentioned items:
Spare CDI
Coil
Fuel Filter
Rotor
Dizzy Cap
Relays
Fuel Pump
A coil of 12AWG wire
Wire/Cable Ties
Duct tape
Multimeter
External voltage regulator
I make the trip in one 12-14 hour day with almost no luggage so space is not an issue.
I had a few more items for 2 water cooled VWs I drove about a million miles between them and only got flatbeded home 3 times which were due to broken CVs and once for corroded grounds.
