Well you're looking at the fan belt pulley, not the flywheel ;-) but my 86 also did not have the Z mark. It does however have very small little notches cut into the pulley to indicate each position and I have to get a flashlight and go very slow to carefully look for them because they are easy to miss. For TDC there will be 2 notches as the 1st mark is for advancing the timing, so you ignore that and keep cranking just a little bit to the next notch slightly to the left of it and this 2nd notch will be where you start at TDC. My distributor also has only a small, hard to see, unmarked notch for TDC and the rotor body lined up with it but the center tip of the rotor points just past it.
