my presumption is that you build these cars to often sell after restoration, not necessarily bring to concours events...
if that's the case, i don't think spending $2k on a tool kit will yield you an extra $2k when you go to sell the car. maybe i'm wrong, but that's what i'd guess.
on the other hand, if it's a car you're intending to use at concours events, and need 100% originality, then maybe it's worth it to you to spend the $$$.
bottom line: i'm not sure a few plastic trophies are worth $2k to me.
