I also skipped the sedation the 1st time. I was getting close to telling the guy to shoot me up during the procedure but then he said 'all done' - I also jogged home afterwards. only a couple of miles tho.

The next 2 times I did get the sedation as there was no way to walk home after they moved the center far away from my house.

BTW - IIRC the pain is from the air inflation not the probe

Be sure to watch the film 'War of the Worlds' and pay lots of attention to the telescopic probes the Martians use before your procedure!
