When the nissan GTR came out it had impressive zero to 60 numbers, but the new owners couldn't duplicate them unless they turned off the computer nanny control.
Then after a few tries they were towed to the dealer who said that'll be $14 grand for a new tranny, no warranty, you turned off the safety control.
Turns out the nanny computer was detuned to protect parts that could not handle full power under launch.
IIRC there was a lawsuit over that.
