That is a highly unlikely scenario and a loss of the Satcom would not disable the transponder regardless. There are discrete antennae for each system of that aircraft, there are probably more than a dozen antennae all together. Also the cabin altitude alerter should have still functioned.
It does not seem there is an easy answer for this event, not until they find the aircraft at least.
