You won't hear me argue, the A-10 is a great plane. But it's not a cheap plane to operate either. I'd love to see the USAF adopt an armed reconnaissance/light attack turboprop, like the OV-10 was used in Vietnam. Much of the work that the A-10 does over in the sandbox is ISR work, its total overkill for the job.
