My '76 is still in it's original spec. It has no power windows, A/C, airpump etc, and feels very light on it's feet.
The '89 Cab, however feels like a tank. It rides very smoothly, by virtue of it's weight smoothening things out, but to me it's not as nimble. It probably handles better, but without the raw feel of the 2.7.
In a lot of respects, the 2.7 is a more fun (involving) car to drive, although the '89 is nicer to drive and more fun to be seen in.
