Interesting thread. I wouldn't have thought there'd be much question of whether a plaque bearing 1975 was, indeed, a silver anniversary edition, what with all the whining Excellence does to diminish the 2.7 engine, even after all these years. I just bought one, #145, and have no doubt it's an authentic silver anniversary edition, even though a prior owner chose to replace the fabric seats with faux leather and installed an Alpine radio. Otherwise, it looks pretty well original. The COA, if it's to be believed, shows the engine number matches, but oddly enough, the engine number shows it to be a Carrera engine. I don' t put much stock in that since, as I understand it, they were the same engines as the S got that year (though I'd be curious to hear if someone has different information on that point). Thanks to Zioo for his thorough info on the car. It's good to hear there are still some of these out there. With a limited run that's now 40 years old, it'd be interesting to get a tally on just how many remain.
