first time I've seen the stuff. looks like the builder might have had a shaped trowel to get a consistent finished shape. I've tried many different things when finishing up defects in the coping on my pools. used to take a plastic container like an empty half gallon ice cream bucket and cut out a section maybe 4 x 6. it's flexible enough to get the shape and finish you want. for the last couple years though, I've been using plastic bondo spreaders. you can get the curve you need starting on existing good surface and hold it as you pass over repair area. bought a fancy stainless trowel in the shape of the coping forms I use but could never get it right. bondo spreader works so much better.
