My wife's desk is perfect. I really think she measures the lamp to make sure it center the desk. the paintings at my house if perfectly level. I use a freaking level to make sure of that. electrical outlets are done the same way. My shoe laces must be the same length if not, I will stripped it off in a crowded room to get em' fix. can't deal, no sir. Holes in my clothes, I could care less.

When someone is paying me for something, it's never good enough. Whether it's paint grade casing (I use the stepped block too) or a walnut staircase, every single thing matters. Grain orientation, colour gradient, etc. there must be a cadence to the finished product.
My music doesn't need to be perfect, but it should sound distilled and every note or rhythm should find a friend with purpose.
That said, I essentially live in a mess. I did the dishes yesterday, so that was good.
I think you've got me deconstructing myself. My problem is that if something can't be perfect, I don't even want to start it. So if I don't have time or skill to do something 100%, it just doesn't get done.
