I had an 03 325i sports package. It is a great car as it handles well, the motor has good torque and mpg is reasonable. I had mine for a couple years and then gave it to my mother.
The center console has some rubberized plastics that don't wear so good. The rubber coating peels off after a while. Window regulators will need replacing as the cable gets worn and frayed. Valve cover gaskets get hard and leak oil and are something that should be replaced every three years or so. Change the oil regularly and change the tranny fluid out every 50k.
