My 99 F250 4x4 supercab/shortbed powerstroke is rusting out at an alarming rate, and has many minor mechanical and electrical glitches. I love the 7.3L diesel in it and get decent milege with it but not good enough to cover the costs over a gas motor.

I have a 30' bumper pull camper (8000 lbs), a 2 place horse trailer, and occasionaly overload my 16x8 utility trailer with firewood or scrap steel. Ultimately, I only end up towing something about 10% of the miles I drive in it.

This has me thinking that I should get an 05-06 F250 with the 5.4L and a 6 speed automatic (most of the towing is around flat as a pancake, NW Ohio and only get into minor hills more than 100 miles from home).
