Funny, I was the opposite. I was dead-set on getting an F-150. I was looking at the FX4/Lariat/King Ranch. I would have liked the XLT, but I couldn't stand the grey or beige interiors. Then I couldn't bring myself to spend $45K on a truck. I ended up getting my 2013 TRD SR5 Tundra for less money than an XLT, $32K vs. $34K for a low optioned XLT. I will say I got an amazing deal though, so that may not be normal. My buddy has the "base" (Tundras don't really have "base") model with the bench seat and I'd say its much nicer and definitely cheaper than the XLTs. When you are talking fancy trucks, the Tundras are far behind. The reliability of the complicated Ford's also scared me away.
