Lots of suicides result in the death of others, hardly unheard of. And anybody fanatical about anything can use it as justification for the greater good. It could be his very beliefs in human rights and democracy that led him to believe suicide with 200 + guests along for the ride was worth the cost in human lives balanced against what he would achieve.
If it was suicide in the first place, who the hell knows.
