We had a rental Altima last year (must have been a 2013). It was an appliance, for sure.
One thing that I hated about it was that it seems like Nissan has programmed the shift points/etc to try and keep the engine revs as low as possible, so you'd be driving down a street at ~40 mph or so at only 1100 rpm. I'm sure that's great for fuel mileage, but horrible if you actually need to accelerate since the engine is making 36 ft-lbs (I made that up

) of torque at that point. Any need to accelerate was greeted by hesitation and confusion as the transmission attempts to downshift and revs climb to actually get the car moving. It was actually disconcerting.
