Follow-up.
New evidence is data plane flew at a lower altitude ( ~12000 feet), faster than first anticipated at that altitude (~275 knots), and ran out of fuel sooner, putting the likely area about 680 miles northeast from where they've been.
The search has abandoned the area searched this whole week.. All assets are moving to the new area.
