We had one at our range a couple months ago and it had been converted to semi automatic and it did fire 7.62x54 ammo. It fed from a belt and it took a retired Navy SEAL to show the owner how to load it and get the gun to cycle reliably. It was about as accurate as blunderbuss at 100 yards!
