Right. A Patent is a (temp) Monopoly right,
for sales. The idea is, the monopoly is granted for those who go public with the idea - rather than keep it secret.
...of course, contrary to public disclosure - and the intention of the program, the latest trend has been in writing patents in obscure terminology so that no one knows what actually got patented. (Lawyers - meh) -I have patents, of my inventions, that I can not follow. (crazy)
