I'm not sure what you are thinking here, but the 1 you get when you measured the terminals is either infinite resistance, 1k ohm or more than 2M ohm, either way they are wrong from the specs which in this case should be somewhere over 1M ohm (>1000k)

Edit: I can measure the resistance in the sensors in a 82 car i have on wednesday, should give you clearer answers
