I don't buy the notion of a catastrophic structural failure. In those cases, the plane doesn't continue to fly for 6 or 7 more hours.
I don't think it was a terrorist hijacking. No claims of responsibility and those guys never miss an opportunity to make a big deal about their "successes".
I don't think it was a fire, as the time involved in various things getting shut down, the turns it made, etc., are too great for the pilot's to not have had time to get a Mayday call out. No way do I believe the fire knocked out all of their lines of comuunication. Nor do I believe that the plane made a turn south, long after the first turn, without a functional pilot. Nor do I believe that the first turn could have been in response to an emergency like a fire, if it wasn't followed up with a Mayday call.
I don't believe it's sitting on the ground, or flown anywhere near land. You can hide a plane in the ocean, easily. Not so on land, without someone seeing it, either in person, on radar, or with a satellite.
I don't believe any conspiracy theories, like the one postulated above, or that aliens got it, or it's on the moon, mainly because I'm not an idiot.
Kind of leaves one alternative, which points to one of the pilots.
