I too am in the middle of a total restoration of a 1988 Carrera S
port Coupe. The body is off for stripping, body work and paint. The engine and transmission are at another shop for an engine rebuild. The interior is out and at another shop for all new leather, carpet and head-liner. This is the second restoration project I have worked on. The first was a 1989 964 C4 coupe. It turned out fabulous......not doubt this one will too. These projects are exciting but can get very spendy no matter how good the donor car is. Mind 88 has 70k original miles and all books and records and we have still found surprises that we couldn't plan for.
The end result is defiantly worth the time and effort especially on this vintage car.
