If you have had this PC for a while and this issue has just started, I can think of only three causes: some driver issue (like a recent updated driver being corrupt), anti-virus issues or a failing system component.

The puzzling thing is random crashing under intense load. Bad or corrupt drivers can do that but failing system components can do that also. Further, you are stating that you can play the video past the point of the crash once the system reboots. If I had to pick one out the three I would go with some failing system component just because it is so random and happens under load.
