As far as full face helmets go, try on quite a few. The fit is key. Try different brands and see which one you like the best. I liked a few Arai designs and tried on a few helmets but couldn't stand the way they felt on my head. Shoei was the same way. I almost bought a Joe Rocket helmet a few years ago until I tried it on. Look for features like anti-lift, weight, airflow, comfort and shield design (anti-fog/UV shielding/visibility.) If you plan on having a helmet for a few years, get a replacement shield (and hardware if applicable) now. HJC makes some good helmets at a good price.
