Spoon Question: Sig P220 "Old" Vs. "New"
I am considering the addition of a Sig P220 .45ACP. From what I can see, most of the "newer" guns have a tactical/accessory rail, which really doesn't interest me, as I prefer the cleaner looks without all the sharp edges.
I don't know the production dates, but it looks like older versions were made in West Germany and have the look I like. As I understand it, these guns utilized a stamped/folded slide, where as the newer, US made ones, have a milled stainless slide.
Since I'm likely to buy something on the used market, what says the PPOT Brain Trust? Anything to be concerned about? Is the P220 I'm looking for (no rail) available in a newish version? Any thoughts or experiences on one being better than the other?
