To be honest, I'd just sell the BCD while it's brand new, and get a better unit like a back wing Zeagle or Scubapro.
no offense, but that's a pretty bare bones basic zero feature BCD. Sell it for cheap $150-200 on craigslist, then drop another couple hundred on something that will last you a lifetime and be way mo' better for trim and comfort underwater.
At a diver/travel show, I once won a $6500 trip for 2 to Fiji as a door prize when my ticket numbers were picked............true story.
It's fantastic you won the BCD for free, but still, I'd sell it while new, or trade it in at a local dive shop near you for something way better. I've got several way nicer BCD's in lightly used gear depending on what size you wear, I'd sell you for cheap........any other pelicans, feel free to PM me. Geez I must have ~6 bcds and 4-5 full regulator sets, Joys of being an instructor. I buy stuff, use it for a while, then buy much better stuff for not that much more money. Lost $$$ buying cheap and then doing it right the 3rd-4th time............
but bigger more important than $$$, is it's only your LIFE SUPPORT equipment, as well as fit / form / function. I'll never ever dive with a rental air regulator. Having worked at a resort before you wouldn't believe how crappy they're treated getting drug through sand.......but hey, it's only delivering your air to you at 60-100+ foot deep, so an ill fitting low feature BCD or cheapo air regulator is A-Okay, right?
Jacket BCD's are okay, but a rear wing is SO MUCH better, with more dump valves and D-rings that doesn't squeeze your chest and sides...........
but great deal, free is free! The Dive Gods smiled down upon yah! cool you won the prize!
