We had some fun stuff happening here in Oklahoma...
When the leader of that Westboro Church that protests military funerals died they had the gall to ask that no-body protest at his funeral out of respect for their mourning. A local liquor store owner put a big sign out front as a epitaph. Had the Pastors name on it, his born and dead dates, 10% off Champagne, and "No Coincidence."
The Westboro group said they were going to come protest his store. He told the media they were welcome and he would have a party for them. He posted on his sign the date they were to show up, and it was a party with free food and drink (no alcohol due to laws). Well they didn't show up.
The next day they protested at the school in Moore, just south of OKC where the children died during the tornado last spring saying the children deserved God's wrath. A huge group of bikers showed up. When the Westboro group drove up, the first guy out of one of their van's threw an American Flag on the ground and stomped on it. It was all the police could do to keep the bikers from crossing the street to get to the Westboro group. The group immediately got back in their vans and left. The protest lasted less than 2 minutes.
The liquor store owners sign now says Welcome Westboro Church Members, Come back when you can stay longer.
This past week the Westboro group protested a marines funeral in Muskogee Oklahoma. While they were protesting at the funeral someone slashed all the tires on their vans. Area tire shops refused to repair or sell them tires. Local hotels and motels refused to rent them rooms. They had to stay in their vans and get someone from the home church in Kansas to bring them tires.
I think someone ought to donate the Westboro church non-refundable tickets to go witness in the middle east. Bet the military would be happy to drop them off.
