I went thru the same comparison that you're going thru and came up with the conclusion that JFP stated. The only advantage I saw with AE was the ability to buy other modules for different OEs. I think they still charge for updates whereas Durametric does not -- bought my Durametric a few years ago and no real complaints about it.
