From what I understand just to be sure you have to get the later Caymans in 2009 or newer to get the ims free ones. Perhaps other members on this forum or 986 or rennlist forums would know for sure.
If it was me buying a Cayman I would buy 2010 or newer just to be on the safe side. I think that you are going to have to do more research in this area. I envy you your purchase but as an owner of a 2001 Boxster base for three years I have been very happy with mine.
