I'm not sure how many were 753 but quite a lot. Raleigh was owned by TI, TI also owned Reynolds, Raleigh got exclusive use of 753 for a number of years - so I have read.
This bike is 753. Based on the (original) decal and the drilled dropouts (drilled on 753 frames, not on 531), and the weight of the complete bike. The best way to verify is to weigh the stripped frame, but I didn't want to strip it down.

did they have 753 in the mid 70s? i would think it should be 531.
I'm no expert in Raleighs, but I always thought the Team bikes were early 80s. If the 1st generation Super Record rear derailleur is original, the bike is 1979 or older (the switchover year to 2nd generation). I'm probably wrong, but I remember the Team bikes as being 753, which I thought was 1980's. But looking it up just now, it was introduced in 1976!
