Washed and polished it then looked for vacuum leaks. Used a length of hose as a stethoscope. Found a slight leak in the connection on the bottom of the J-Boot. Of course it had the original crimp hose connector on it. A pain to remove! Put on a high quality hose clamp from Pelican and it runs a bit better now, although it never really ran badly (1987, 51,000 miles almost all original untouched parts!!!!).
