I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about the hex-at the time is was hard to find but today its in every Harbor Freight complete set-it 3.5mm. The real pain is getting the cable length right because you can't get cutters in there.

The brakes themselves are simply beautiful. No functional advantage though, the weight offsets any "aero" benefit, and while very effective as "speed modulators" they don't stop well. Those Shimano AX brakes are rare birds and highly sought after.
