One of the reasons I posted this thing has to do with the fact that the politicians, who have many motivations, can and will pass laws making car ownership more difficult and expensive. They mainly live in cities, after all.
No, the minuscule number of classic cars running around make no dent in anything, except to the extent that they prevent a little new car production, thereby saving resources and keeping things clean. Never mind, they are cars and they will be painted with the same brush, regardless.
Businesses and politicians don't want to stop making cars; look at all the employment and money they generate. Cars that last for 50 years would be the cleanest of all, but they wouldn't make money. The world runs on money, not gasoline.
I have to go out to the garage now to do some work on my classic Porsche.
