Geez, what a frikkin' day at work.
FIrst off, one of our trucks break down and it takes the mobile fleet guy 4.5 hours to get my drive back on the road. Called some customers in the meantime and advised of the situation. Problem solved......
A couple of hours later my driver calls me to say she was rear-ended by 2 cars.
No injuries and no damage to our truck but she is down for another hour. Again, I contact the customers to advise and reschedule pickups as needed.
Then, one of my best employees tells me that today is his last day.
He had been offered another job but never officially gave me his notice as were trying to work out what we could do for him. Apparently, nothing.
I contacted HR and of course, get no response via email or phone. Wonderful.
I wished him well in his new career and will take care of the details another day.
Finally, I headed home hoping that nothing would happen on the way.
It didn't and I am now enjoying a well deserved(I think) Stella.
