I had a '96 4-runner (actually shouldn't have sold that one - 4 cylinder and stick). I have a '14 X1. One is essentially a truck, the other is essentially a sports-ish car. Both can carry all the stuff I need. Which one would I rather drive? No question. Which one is cheaper to own long term? No question. That doesn't make one "bad" unless you have strong preferences one way or the other.
