I echo what Island says. But, while fuel mileage is not good, you can certainly get relatively decent mileage if you keep your foot off it. We bought ours almost two years ago with 61k on the odometer. It has been flawless, except for the Nav/stereo unit that took a dump. $700 fix from the authorized Becker repair shop back East. Just like anything else, you got to be into it though. A Toyota Highlander makes much more sense, but it may not be for the enthusiast. My wife yearned for something sportier than her Honda CRV. That Honda was fantastic, but certainly no Cayenne. The tradeoff is well worth it for us. Oh, can you do your own maintenance stuff like oil changes, air filters, shocks, struts? Yes? Well then, you will not be nickel and dimed by the Porsche dealers for basic repair and maintenance stuff.
