With my old air-cooled VWs and Porsches, I always knew how easy it was to just swap them out so never really considered the odometer reading an accurate measure of the cars milage or condition. I would pay more attention to the car it self and see if I can tell how well the previous owners had taken care of it. Kind of why when someone asks how many miles are on my car now I just shrug and say who knows.
