Today was a good day....
I moved out to California 3 years ago for work. As I work for the government, I haven't had my choice of where to be for the last 3 years. I've still managed to keep my home in Indianapolis (just was there last week for my annual party), but the last few months have really made me consider selling the place and just coming to terms with the fact of being stuck in California.
(I know that sounds weird...but I've lived all over. The weather and terrain are lovely here...but it just doesn't offer what I'm looking for, for my future)
Anyway, HR called me up today...my transfer request to Indianapolis has been approved. There is a caveat, though...which I'm totally fine with. I need to stay here another 24 months. My release date will be in 2016.
Light at the end of the tunnel. I've been stuck in limbo for the last couple of years. Not wanting to develop roots in California, stuck with maintaining friendships back home. Unsure if or when I'd get back home. Well, at least I KNOW I'm going home....
It has been a great day!
