My '74 did not have a cover and I had to replace the PermaTune CD unit and so I ordered the cover (engine relay cover, I believe) and the two wingnuts and washers to hold the cover on from PelicanParts last July. I believe the cover keeps water and dust off the rear electrical shelf and covers a part of the PermaTune CD unit. I would definitely recommend the cover as it can't be good to have fuses, relays, and other electrical parts "exposed" to the elements. Just my .02 worth, but what do I know?
