get a test light. much easier to and cheaper.

you really only need to voltage when working on the charging sysem. also, a MM can kead you down the wrong road because it does not put a load on the circuit and it can tell you 12v is there when there is a bad connection and not enough current to power what it is connected to.

i have seen it here several times. (i have 12v at my tail light but it still does not work. thats because there is hi resistance and not enough current to power the bulb)
