This thread still makes me chuckle. Love it.
I want to update my opinion. On Wednesday I was driving east on I-70 from Golden (I am in Colorado). I came up on a targa that - looks wise - I would have traded my coupe for in a second. It was the first time I have seen a targa where my eye did not immediately go right to the b-pillar roof line joint.
This car was filthy (I mean FILTHY). It was a wide body slant, with vented rear quarters and the big boxed rockers. It was running very wide 15" fuchs and a turbo tail. It was simply PISSED OFF looking. I could not stop staring (not a good thing at 65MPH).
I did the typical dumb a$$ thing (that I hate when it happens to me) and I followed the car in its blind spot for a few miles.
Very strange that when my two less than favorite Porsche feature are combined (targa/80's slant) I was totally twitterpated by the outcome! Even though many purists would have equated the thing to a rolling White Snake concert, I would have proudly driven that car.
I should have talen a picture..... I think I want a slant now.
