Baz, while I agree with your sentiments, if you leave it in her mailbox, it will possibly make her angry and ashamed and she might take it out on the dog.
I would print it out, wait until I saw her, then walk over and tell her what a beautiful dog she has and how I saw this on the Internet and thought she might enjoy it.
