You may have over filled the oil. Even though the manual says you hold 11 quarts that's total including the front cooler and oil lines. If you have a front mounted oil cooler you should never put in more than 9 quarts of oil when you make a change. Then run the car until it get's hot enough to open the thermostat, then check the oil level on the dipstick and add if needed. I may be wrong here but the front cooler and oil lines may not drain when you open the tank plug. If so you'll have about 2.5 quarts too much oil in the car and may suck it into the engine. I'm sure others will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I added the nine quarts as recommended by the board but even after warm was still short. When I had added eleven it was showing on the stick. The manual I have said 11 qts at oil change, actually it was in liters as the car is a euro and the manual is in German. So I will drive it a bit longer as on a sixty degree day I cant get it hot enough to fully get the cooler flowing very much.
