Members of the Kelowna Integrated Road Safety Unit spent a few hours on May 23 stopping vehicles along Highway 97C. They pulled over seven vehicles for excessive speed, and each of the cars were found to be travelling between 165-190 km/h along a section of road where the posted speed limit was 110 km/h.
Drivers found speeding more than 40 km/h over the limit were subject to fines ranging from $368 to $483, as well as having their vehicles impounded for a mandatory seven days."
