Based on your criteria, Charleston seems like it ticks all your boxes. Nice climate, plenty of golfing opportunities (especially in Myrtle) and fishing.

The average price for houses in the Mt Pleasant area seems to be $350k and up for around a 3 BR 1&1/2 BA nice looking home.
North Charleston seems to be much cheaper though. Most of the homes there seem to be in the under $100k range. The average winter temperature ranges from the upper 50's to lows in the 40's which isn't too cold for a few months of the year.
If I had family in the area, I would really consider Charleston too. Beautiful town with just enough things to keep you entertained and busy.
