JC (Top Gear) is kind of a boob, but reflecting on that piece I can't imagine what he must have felt - being intelligent, English, over England, in a Spitfire...I give him a pass
- Lets not forget the Spitfire's brother in arms, The Hurricane - That machine (and even more, radar) was more of a factor in winning The Battle of Britain than the Spitfire.
- although the biggest factor of all was the men that flew them....
